Should I choose a different material for every area of the house?

Generally speaking, marble is more prone to scratches and can be negatively affected by acidic substances like, citrus juice, wine, and vinegar, that are more likely to be present in a kitchen environment. Thus, granite is the more commonly used material for kitchen spaces since is not subject to these substances, resists heat, and is less prone to scratches that could be made when handling kitchenware.

How should I care for my new countertops?

Depends on the material used. Granite countertops are sealed before being installed which gives them incredible durability. Commonly used cleaning solutions like soap water and all purpose cleaners can be used to maintain its beauty for a long time. Not only that, but granite is one of the most hygienic materials hence why it is so commonly used in the food industry.

Marble countertops are more prone to scratches. Be wary of sharp objects and always use coasters and cutting boards. Acidic substances can negatively affect its finish, so be careful when handling those substances around your marble countertop. To maintain its beauty, regularly clean with soap, water, and an absorbent towel.

What are some common mistakes made by homeowners looking to remodel their home?

One of the biggest issues for homeowners is that, while the project is on its way, their home will be “intruded” by noises, workers, and debris. It is our responsibility as contractors to inform and communicate with the customer throughout the entire process.
